Trump: ‘Of Course He’s My African-American, I’ve Owned Many African-Americans’

Not backing away from his controversial remarks that occurred during a rally in Redding, CA, Friday afternoon, Trump is now doubling-down.

During the rally, Trump made a point to talk about his African-American supporters, and then pointed to one in the crowd and said, “Look at my African-American over here.” Which left many with their mouths agape as those words just came out of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Some have questioned if this African-American supporter is his only black supporter, which very well may be the case, as others have looked at this remark as though Trump is claiming ownership.

Free Wood Post caught up with Trump and asked him:

“Did you just claim ownership over a black person? Do you understand how terrible that looks with our nation’s history of slavery?”

Trump responded:

“Look, of course he’s my African-American. I have lots of African-Americans, and I’ve owned many African-Americans over my life as a top business executive.”

We followed up with:

“It doesn’t seem you have realized how awful that still sounds. You can say you have African-American supporters, but to claim that you own them, and that they are yours, is remarkably racist.”

Trump shot back with:

“The only people who are racist here, are you terrible folks in the media who like to make something out of nothing. I’m not the one bringing up the subject of race, you are. Not me. You. This is why losers always get elected in this nation, because tremendous people like me can’t say two words without you jumping down my throat and calling me racist. I’m not racist. Everyone loves me, even my African-Americans.”

FWP:

“You just did it again.”

Trump:

“That’s enough of this. I’m not going to sit here and be told I’m things that I’m not. You losers stick to your pretend stories, okay. This isn’t going to fly when I’m president. I’ll shut you and your phony stories down.”

It was then that Trump ripped off his mic pack and exited our interview, still not answering our questions. Ultimately, it will be up to the American people to decide if they want a person like Trump in the White House. Hopefully not.
