TOP TEN Steve Scalise ‘I’m not racist, but…’ One-Liners

It would seem that House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) has gotten himself into a bit of hot water. A bit of hot, deep, racist water.

After speaking in front of White Nationalists and neo-Nazis in 2002, Scalise traversed a political career being the guy at the party who was known to say, “I’m not racist, but…” and then any number of things.

TOP TEN “I’m not racist, but…” one-liners Steve Scalise has said:

1.)“I’m not racist, but I believe the Civil War was about states’ rights and northern aggression.”

2.) “I’m not racist, but white people should still be able to purchase, trade, and own non-white people.”

3.) “I’m not racist, but Adolf Hitler is one of my heroes.”

4.) “I’m not racist, but Jesus was definitely white.”

5.) “I’m not racist, but if I could make Barack Obama my slave, I totally would. He seems strong.”

6.) “I’m not racist, but I do like to wear a white hood and burn crosses for fun.”

7.) “I’m not racist, but I do like swastika tattoos. Who doesn’t?”

8.) “I’m not racist, but I wish it were socially acceptable.”

9.) “I’m not racist, but my only black friend is my caddy.”

10.) “I’m not racist, but…. no, I am. I’m a raging racist.”

So don’t worry. Steve Scalise isn’t racist, but he’s definitely not NOT racist either.
