Chris Christie: “The real victim here is me”

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie came under fire in a press conference this morning regarding the George Washington Bridge lane closures that tied up traffic for days.

The governor was visibly upset that his staff could do such a thing.

“I’m outraged that my trusted aid Bridget Anne Kelly would do such a thing. She knows better how to get information across without it being leaked to the press. I honestly thought I had trained her better. The real victim here is me. Those lane closures were our little secret, and she betrayed my trust. That jerkface over in Fort Lee who had the audacity not to endorse me would’ve been none the wiser, and the people of New Jersey would still see me as their fearless leader who only does sneaky things with their tax dollars when it comes to not wanting Cory Booker on the same ticket as me. So yeah, I fired her. I need a team who knows how to keep a secret, and doesn’t make me have to explain my shady actions to the world.”
