Since September 17th there has been a protest taking place in Liberty Plaza (Zuccotti Park), which is in the heart of New York City’s Financial district. The protest has been called “Occupy Wall Street”. It is a ”leaderless resistance movement” spearheaded by the activist magazine Adbusters. They want to take to task the people responsible for the meltdown of the national and world economy.
Up until now, there has been virtually no press coverage for the event. Just a smattering on some news outlets, with a little more coverage on liberal news outlets such as MSNBC and Current. However in recent days, a group of five Tea Party members have set up a lawn chairs directly across the street from the Wall Street protesters, so that they can protest “this liberal agenda of shutting down capitalism.” Since arriving on the scene, news trucks from around the world have focused their attention on this protest of the protest by these few Tea Party Patriots.
When asking one of the Tea Party members why they were there he replied, “Whenever I see these liberal progressive commies I assume it’s for a bad reason, so I’m here to make sure they don’t get too riled up and cause our economy to shut down completely.” When the Tea Party member was informed that the protesters were there to make their voices heard over the economic collapse, and want to hold the people to blame accountable he said, “Then why isn’t they down at the White House tellin’ that socialist Obama to stop tryin’ to regulate these here people just tryin’ to do business.”
It was quite obvious that the meaning of the protest was lost on these Tea Party members who were there just to be angry at “the progressives” with no other apparent cause to be sitting there all day every day. At least now the protest is getting the news coverage it was failing to draw on its own. Apparently, five Tea Party members is more news worthy than thousands of protesters.
Note to Wall Street Protesters: Next time, bring lawn chairs and misspelled signs.

I remember there was a time, when the media showed up at protest gatherings and did a little song and dance to pretend they were listening. Even if they reported the event superfiicially or with a moderate political slant, at least they felt the duty to listen to us. But now the medias message is,” I’m not showing up, I don’t care to listen. You protesters just aint got no voice around here.” But on the other hand the police’s shoving, kicking, dragging,and arresting at the slightest boo from the protesters is as the saying goes,”this here is another animal all together.” But don’t worry the more the media ignores the Occupy Wall Street Movement, the more the protesters prove their point

Today it was reported that yesterday many Pro-Wall Street spectators and possibly investors or staff, were watching the protesters from the balcony of a financial institution on Wall street. Some were smirking, and others were mocking the protesters by raising a glass of champaign.
These spectators who yesterday stood on this Wall Street balcony, are possibly in the majority, the descendents of a European revolutionary peasantry. Their great grandparents established both here and in Europe a democracy whose cry was, liberty, equality and fraternity, and whose social contract still states that its government is of, by and for the people. Are they at this time switching roles with the once feudal aristocracy who ruled over their grandparents for centuries? Was this not an aristocracy who believed they were born more superior, and the most fit to rule over an inferior peasantry who deserved to be poor and disheveled? Have these spectators on the balcony forgotten where they came from? Do they take any pride in our American history? Do they believe in defending our constitution and our democratic rights? Do we in horror have before us a new breed of aristocrats? Are they the new corporate aristocrats, and are we in their eyes a new breed of serfs?
Do you think that at this time in history, these great grandchildren, of our once revolutionary peasantry, who in the majority cannot claim any aristocratic feudal family crest or blue blood, should take on the behaviour of the aristocratic feudal Queen, Marie Antoinette of France? These balcony spectators exhibited a shameless demonstration of contempt towards the protesters. With great dirision they lifted their champaign glasses to the protesters. By doing so they joined in the same scornful sentiments of a feudal Queen in saying “LET THEM EAT CAKE!”

It could work to have some Occupy Wall Streeters pose as Tea Partiers at the protests and occupation, for one thing so media shows up, and for another, to setup a scripted point-counterpoint skit to illustrate how Wall St has sold out Tea Partiers too, and highlight the damage and hypocrisy of both Wall St and the Tea Party. If done well, like the Yes Men’s productions, neither the media nor the public would realize this was a scripted setup, and maybe learn something.
It’s amazing how media propaganda can create a country full of ignorant drones just plugging our lives away while the elite 1% (who, by the way, OWN the media and therefore control what we do, and in the case of Occupy Wall Street, what we DO NOT see) laugh at us for being so stupid that we cannot see it. I was so disgusted by the first protest video I watched online,which I found only because a friend shared it on facebook. People were protesting in the streets while the Wall Street fat cats were actually standing on the balcony, drinking champagne and literally LAUGHING and pointing at the protesters!! It makes me so sick and sad to know that so many people truly are BLIND to what is really going on! There really is a 4th branch of the government called the Media that is owned by the elite 1% of the country that also buy the laws! Unless you are in that 1%, you should be screaming this from your rooftops, painting it on your car, telling your neighbors, preaching it at church, telling EVERY…SINGLE…PERSON…YOU…KNOW!
Together our voice can be heard and we can rise up! We most certainly have the numbers to do it, but media will do everything in it’s power to stop us from finding out the truth.
I say we all get some attention for Ron Paul for President and make sure people get out to that primary election! He is not getting any media attention, either.

I was a lifelong Republican on 8/11/2011 I switched to the Democratic Party. I finally realized that the TEA PARTY has hijacked the GOP and they do not stand for anything that I stand for. So before they do too much damage to this nation I will work as hard as I am able to remove them from office. The Republican Party is no longer the party of Lincoln it belongs to the Koch Brothers and Grover Norquist brought and paid for.

Actually The tea Party was hijaked by the GOP around 2009. The Tea Party Was originally a movement backing Ron Paul. The GOP seen that it was growing so before it got Too Big the GOP hijacked it and used it to win seats Using people like glenn beck and others to promote it. People need to realize that because the original tea party from 07-08 would not have attacked unions (this is a republican attack)The only thing that they had an issue with was the very few very very top union leaders being in bed with the politicians and selling thier own union members out. Other than that they had no problem with the unions. this is being used as a ploy to divide and rule the American People.
